The Schabls' winery is a highly sympathetically run business in the heart of Königsbrunn. Here, a number of heartfelt projects come together to form a successful, coherent whole: the winery is run organically, it is a member of the Gemeinwohlökonomie, and the entire wine series is true to the vintage and vegan. And: Together with other organic farms in the region and in the spirit of Slow Food, they are working on the care and further development of the autochthonous Red Veltliner.

Another Roter Veltliner that prompted praise acrose the board, this time from a fith-generation family, organic producer in Königsbrunn am Wagram.

"Waxy nose with stone fruits, apple and pepper," said one judge. "Some smokiness and butterscotch. Ripe and richly mouth-coating. Loads of peach. Hints of egg custard. Textured and silky, feels lovely and defined. Smoke, quince, spice on the finish. The wine is easy to love. it also offers something different to the rest of my Austrian wines."
